Get your regular contraceptive pill on the NHS from our pharmacist, without needing a GP appointment
Our contraception service is for people who want to get their regular contraceptive pill from the pharmacy, instead of making an appointment with their GP. It is an NHS service. Our pharmacist can talk through your options with you, and supply your contraception if it is suitable for you.
This is not the same as emergency contraception, sometimes called the morning after pill. If you need emergency contraception, please let us know when you contact us so we can help you in the right way.
What happens at your appointment
You will see the pharmacist in a private consultation room, so you can talk openly. The pharmacist will ask about your health, any medicines you take, and the contraception you are using now or would like to start. Your blood pressure and weight may be checked.
If contraception is right for you, the pharmacist can supply it there and then. If it would be better for you to be seen elsewhere, they will explain why and help you take the next step.
Who it is for
The service is for people who would like to start regular contraception, or who are already using it and need a further supply. The pharmacist will confirm whether it is suitable for you at your appointment.
